The room felt small and hot,
standing by the window
she twisted the shutters,
allowing the cool night air
to kiss her,
a comfort —
after a night of bad dreams;
panic, pandemic, war, floods.
Or maybe it was real.
The world had changed so much,
she couldn't tell anymore.
She focused on the breeze
and her breath.
